Company's logo

Windlight Studios is a defunct computer animation and visual effects company based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The company was established in 1993 specialised in animation for videogames, commericals, television, educational media, games, theme park rides, and feature films. It would be leading in computer animation industry due to its collabration with Alias Research using innovative technologies in motion capture. As a result, they would be pioneers in the industry.

The company would greatly assist with the development of first Gex game, producing the intro and outro for the game. As well as the sprite animation for both Gex and Rez using motion capture.

They will continue to develop animation for other series such Arnie and Birine, Weldon Pond, and famous toy brand, Barbie. Despite the success Windlight Studios would be merged/absorbed into larger animation stuido giant, Nelvana Ltd in 1997. Later, it's co-founder Scott Dyer became senior vice-president in charge of production in late 2001.
