Rootbeer Barrels are mission-based items in Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko. These items are involved in the Gangster TV missions, which requires the player to destroy five barrels that are scattered throughout the level. Unlike, the Bundle of Funny Money; they can be destroy used the tail whip, tail bounce and karate kick. When Gex has demolished all five barrels, it would trigger the remote to appear and the exit tv to complete the mission.
