Private Gex (also known as Gunner Gex or Army Gex) is a costumed alter-ego of Gex. This costume is exclusive to the Army Channel, and gives Gex the ability to mount gun nests and cannon stations. This allows him to shoot enemies from a distance and detonate explosive landmines and switches on contact.
