PIRATE88 is a cut level which can be accessed through the December 30th, 1998 prototype. According to this build, the level was going to appear exclusively in the Nintendo 64 version. This level is similar to What a Crock! only that player has to navigate a straight path riding Scales while avoiding many obstacles. Additionally, it contains an unused swimming pirate enemy which isn't present in the retail release. This level was going to appear in the Lake Flaccid hub. This is due to the fact that, the mission select menu only being triggered from that hub area.

Trivia[]
- This level has an unused skeleton pirate enemy which is never used in the final game
- This level takes a lot of inspiration from the What a Crock! bonus level.
- Using the debug menu in the prototype, PIRATE88 mission screen only triggers when selected from the Lake Flaccid hub. This confirms that, this level would be possibly appeared in Lake Flaccid replacing The Buccaneer Program.
