The Lost Ark is a mission-based collectible featured in Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko. It is an item exclusive to a mission in Tut TV. There are three Arks scattered throughout the level, each guarded by a Priest. Defeating the Priest opens up the Ark and releases the spirits trapped inside. Opening the third and final Ark reveals a TV set with the objective's remote. While an Ark can be collected by tail whipping it, it is not required to complete the objective. The only requirement for completing this mission is to defeat all of the Priests (and, subsequently, open all of the Arks).
Trivia[]
- The Lost Ark is a reference to the film Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first film in the Indiana Jones franchise, which in turn references the Ark of the Covenant (a gold-covered wooden chest that was said to contain the two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments).
- This is the only mission-based collectible in the game that does not actually need to be collected in order to complete the mission.
