Channel Z, or Spacestation Rez and Staion Spatale Rez, is the final boss level of Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko.
Setting and inspiration[]
The level is heavily inspired by the 1979 film, Moonraker.
Strategy[]
Entering the space station[]
Once the cargo bay doors of the Saucy Sue open up, Alfred will inform Gex how to unlock the space station's airlock. Tail-whipping Alfred will repeat his advice and show one of the generators as well. Gex must platform and glide across various satellites to reach one of the wings of the space station. From here he can disable the first generator. He must repeat the process for the other two generators before he can enter the airlock and begin the main battle with Rez.
Fighting Rez[]
When fighting Rez, you will start on a platform with an acid fly. After shooting Rez's bullseye with acid (while avoiding missiles), you will have to go to the center circle to continue. The paths to the acid flies will fall at this point. When Rez swings with his left hand, jump over it. When Rez swings with his right hand, duck it.
When he goes to pound, jump to avoid the shockwave. One of his pounds to the ground will cause the bridges to the acid flies to reappear and the process will repeat.
Hit Rez with a total of 5 shots of acid to defeat him.

Trivia[]
- The name 'Rez-Raker' is a reference to the James Bond film Moonraker.
- As shown in the December 30th, 1998 prototype, the boss area itself was originally going to be larger and more expansive in its size. However, the areas were cut due to time constraints during development.
- In the French localisation of the Nintendo 64 version of the game, Spacestation Rez has original TV channel logo. Additionally, it appears in the Feburary 8th, 1999 prototype which is based on the PS1 build. However, it's absent from the English and German retail releases. Instead, they would have the Channel Z TV logo. The reason for this change was probably due to an error during the development of the game.
