Surprisingly, there have been a fair amount of calendars that feature Gex. These are just a few that are currently known.

Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko Calendar[]

Gex 3 Deep Cover Gecko 1999 - 2000 Calendar EB Eidos Exclusive PlayStation RARE

The Gex 3 EB Games exclusive calendar

This is the only official Gex calendar that is currently known to exist. It covers the 1999-2000 calendar year. It was a pre-order bonus offered exclusively at EB Games (then known as Electronics Boutique). It was also given away as part of an Eidos promotional merchandise pack during E3 1999. Each month features a different promotional image from the game's marketing. A recent listing for a sealed copy of this calendar (along with a sealed Gex T-shirt and demo disc) sold for $450.

PlayStation Games Hit Kalendar '99[]

German Calendar 1

Front cover of calendar

This is a German calendar that features many video game franchises, including Gex. It came bundled with the February 1999 issue of PlayStation Games magazine. This calendar is actually part one of a two-part calendar set. This one covers January through June of 1999. The second calendar came bundled with a later issue of PlayStation Games, and covered the remaining months of that year. Each month features a "hit" PlayStation game from 1999. Gex 3 is the featured game for the month of March. Gex gets some extra exposure in this calendar, in the form of a bonus poster that comes inside. Two more Eidos franchises make a cameo in this calendar as well. Akuji The Heartless is the featured game for January, and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is the featured game for April.

Trivia[]

  • While the concept of a "Gex 3 Calendar" sounds odd, in theory it makes some sense. Given the prominence of Agent Xtra in Gex 3's promotion, it's clear that the theme of the "Baywatch babe sidekick" was a prevalent marketing tool for Eidos. In this case, a calendar featuring spreads of Agent Xtra with juxtapositions of Gex that both mimics and parodies the "bikini girl" calendars would make for a unique and amusing piece of promotional material. Unfortunately, from what images are available, this calendar does not appear to take advantage of this concept.
