Astronaut Gex is a power-up and costumed alter ego of Gex. It is exclusive to Channel Z, and allows Gex to breathe and glide safely in space.

- This is not only the final costume worn in Gex 3, but in the entire series as well.
- Originally, the astronaut helmet obscured Gex’s face. This was changed in the final release of Gex 3.
